Thankful Sunday

This past week, I started a three mornings a week swimming regime at the local high school.  They offer lap swimming from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m.  The water is a comfortable temperature, the pool is at least twice as long as my home pool (which I can only use during
Art is by Cathie Carlson, and is available in her shop
the summer months), and there are other nice folks swimming, who welcomed me to their group.

With the exception of the locker room (which has no place to keep your clothes and gym bag dry while showering) it was a very pleasant experience.

I am thankful to be moving again after the winter indoor activities, and hope to be in good swimming shape by the time our pool opens for the season.

What are you thankful for today?

(P.S. -  I can avoid the locker room dilemma by showering at home).

Today I'm thankful for movies on the couch...my sore body is in need of some couch time!

  2. I sing as a soprano in our local chorus and today we had a very special performance, dedicated to two very young sisters who were celebrating their birthday together. We sang cheerful songs and we made them dance to the rhythm. Suddenly, one of the girls sat on the floor ('dropped to the floor' would be more precise) and started crying. We all thought that there was something wrong with her but, as soon as she could hicup some words out of her mouth, she blurted: 'Oh, mommy, they sing so beautifully!'

I've never felt more thankful in my life!

  6. Being close to the ocean and having a husband who loves to surf, we made sure our children were good swimmers. They both swam on year round swim teams and the smell of chlorine is something I remember well! I am truly thankful for the wonderful swim coaches they had and the great friendships formed with members of the team.
Good luck with your lap swims!!
