Heavenly Stitches

Over the weekend, my daughter and I, and a little over 50 other women, attended "Heavenly Stitches" a quilting retreat held at Singing Hills Christian Camp in New Hampshire.

Singing Hills offers plain, but comfortable sleeping accommodations, an endless supply of food, plenty of space for quilting and fellowship, and a sweet little chapel where we sang praises and had daily teachings.  We could not have asked for better weather.  Crisp, sunny days made for excellent walks along the woods, and we cuddled in our sleeping bags for a good night's rest during the cold nights.

My daughter and I were very pleased to finish our projects for the weekend.  I made a baby quilt for a niece who is due this month.  My daughter made quilted Christmas stockings which she will be giving as gifts this holiday season.

Lucinda Secrest McDowell was the speaker for the weekend.  She taught on how God uses the scraps of our lives to piece together a beautiful quilt for His glory.
Lucinda is a wonderful teacher.  She shared stories from her own life as well as other woman's lives, and especially of God's grace. Each sharing ended with her reading a short but meaningful childrens story, and singing  prayer.  I came away encouraged and reminded of how much God loves me.

We came home enriched by the teachings, sweet fellowship, bearing quilted gifts, tired but blessed.

Happy Sewing ♥
