Customer Appreciation

A customer sent me a photo this week of dresses she made using Woodlands Squirrel and Hedgehog fabrics purchased from my shop

With her permission, I share this shot of her adorable girls in their new dresses.  Aren't they sweet.... and the dresses look great!

It is so much fun to see the wonderful creations people make with the fabrics they buy.

Feature Monday - Fabric Jewelry

Fabric Necklace by Liat Kires from At Li Art
This week, I've found some wonderful fabric jewelry on Etsy.  Just think, you can wear a unique piece handcrafted by an artisan.  Click on a link below any photo to go to the shop where it may be purchased.

Liat Kires lives in Matan located 20 minutes from Tel Aviv.  She makes handcrafted textile jewelry and fabric accessories braided from different fabrics, each piece one of a kind.

Cuff by Judy Johnson of BC Studio Designs

Judy Johnson learned her work ethic and the importance of paying attention to details  from her mother.  She personally selects all of her fabric and creates each item individually to ensure quality in the details.

By Angela Crosby of Sweet Cami Jayne

Angela Crosby says that creating something beautiful makes her happy.  Her daughter is the inspiration for my shop name. She specializes in making fabric jewelry and hair accessories, and is glad to take customs orders.

Braided Necklace by Ashley from Pamplepluie

This shop owners goal is to make jewelry that is ecologically friendly and sustainable.  She strives to make pieces that are unique, pushing the envelope of quirky, and beautiful but not pretentious.

Ring by Julie Weingarten from Joola Design Studio

Julie Weingarten says that her love story with everything handmade begun as a little girl. She explored all kind of materials, enjoying new textures and learning techniques from her beloved Grandmother.  Her work has a vintage feel with shabby chic and bohemian design elements as well.

Earrings by Christine Kangas of Kangas Jewelry Design

Christine Kangas personally makes all of the unique fabric beads and jewelry pieces her shop offers.  She enjoys combining re-purposed and new finds from all over to bring together a unique yet versatile piece of jewelry art.  Her hand covered fabric beads are  lightweight and unique.

Bracelet by Claudia Stern from Clireu

Claudia Stern is a jewelry designer living and working in Locarno which is known as the sunniest and warmest place in Switzerland.  She says that she is very curious person who is constantly inspired by her surroundings.  Her  aim is to create jewelry which can be worn with comfort and lightheartedness.

I hope you've found some new favorites browsing through these shops.

March Came in like a Lion

This morning we awoke to Winter's last hurrah before the coming Spring (at least I hope it is the last hurrah!).

Speaking of March coming in like a lion, isn't this the cutest fabric!

Lion and Lamb Fabric available on Spoonflower
It perfectly represents the month of March, and also reminds me of the Lion and Lamb mentioned in the book of Isaiah.  I just ordered a small piece for myself.  Now what "special something" shall I make with it?

Chicken Salad

I have been eagerly awaiting this collection from Hoffman.  Rennie Rau Marquez's new screenprint fabrics featuring joyous folk-art pictorials is here! The focal print has large colorful roosters wandering in a lush green lettuce garden. There are also bold sunflowers, and blueberry circles.

Rennie has been drawing and painting since childhood, even selling pieces in her parents' art gallery when she was a teenager. She continued showing in galleries as an adult while she also put in 22 years at Walt Disney Imagineering as a senior concept designer. Since the 1990s, Rennie has been showing her work in earnest. Her work hangs in many private collections in the U.S., Mexico and abroad.

If you are like me, your head is spinning with ideas on what to make with this delicious fabric.

You can buy this coordinated set in my fabric shop by the yard, the half yard, or in fat quarters.
