Treasured Tuesday

The 3rd Saturday in March each year is designated as National Quilting Day. This year it also happened to fall on St. Patrick's Day. To celebrate, this weeks treasuries are all about Quilting.

Andrea of HappyCloudCreations has been featured on Treasured Tuesdays a number of times.

Not only does she make wonderful treasuries, but she makes unique, one of a kind quilts like the one shown, as well as burp cloths, bibs, travel changing pads, decorative pillows, pot holders and hand knitted dish cloths.

When Angelica Allen of FurPawsBoutique recently found herself unemployed, she took up a favorite pastime - crocheting. At her family and friends urging, she began selling her items on Etsy. In addition to cute dog wearables like the one shown, Angelica also has a second shop that offers sweet baby goods.

Beverly of SecondSanctuary is a church pastor, who has also been quilting for more than 20 years. Part of the proceeds from the sale of her products is used to donate sewing machines to women in India. The scrappy patchwork quilt at right is an example of her handiwork.

She curated this quilty treasury as well.

The Howard family of BearCreekCreations has been making and selling quilt design sweatshirts (like the one pictured) and T shirts for over 13 years in their community near Bandon, Oregon. I have one of their T shirts, and can attest to the quality of the workmanship. They have also added fun and colorful crocheted hats for sale in their shop.

Here is the quilt filled treasury they made.

Finally, Gail of QuiltSewPieceful curated this lovely treasury.

Gail specializes in pieced quilts, although she does do a little fusible applique work. When she is not piecing a quilt, she is embroidering or working on her longarm quilting machine. She also has a line of patterns, and teaches quilting classes at a local shop. The tangerine and aqua lap quilt at right is one of the quilts she has made.

Thank you lovely ladies for including me in your quilty treasuries.

Remember, it is always a good time to Quilt!
