Until recently, I didn't really "get" the Ipod - was it a phone, the newest game playing device, a mini computer? What exactly was its purpose?
That is until my daughter introduced me to Angry Birds. Suddenly I had to have an IPod in order to play the game. I justified the expense of the device by saying that we could use it to check our email and keep up with my Etsy shop while on vacation. In actuality, with a screen is no larger than a cell phone, so reading email or accessing a web page is difficult.
Mind you, I've never been into computer games before. In fact, just recently I nodded politely while a co-worker gushed how much fun the game was. Some people spend hours and hours playing it, and some even have husbands who have given them Angry Bird character T-shirts for Mothers Day (I actually know someone like that).
In case you aren't familiar with the game, here are a few of the characters as featured in some Etsy shops.

According to Wikipedia the game was developed in 2009 by a senior game designer for Rovio featuring some angry-looking birds with no visible legs or wings. As the concept was developed, the staff realized the birds needed an enemy. At the time, the "swine flu" epidemic was in the news, so the staff made the birds' enemies pigs.
The concept of the game is simple enough for a 3 year old to play |
Have you tried it? If so, how do you get those treasure chests into your stash?
Happy Summertime,
I haven't tried this game, I actually don't plan on getting an iphone even just because it is too proprietary. I'd rather have an android and add apps for free.
ReplyDeleteMore than a year ago I decided to stop wasting time with games because I realized that while I am doing this someone else is using their time creatively or to learn something. So, i quit and have refocused on creativity instead.
I haven't tried Angry Birds - but I do confess to liking Bejeweled and Scrabble. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteDon't have an Ipod, but you got me thinking....:):)
ReplyDeleteI. Am. Obsesssed.
ReplyDeleteI got my iPhone less than a month ago, and I've already beaten 2 versions of the game. Ha ha.
I use my iPod a LOT for my Etsy shop (and other venues). It's a great tool - really. And when I go for walks or biking, I actually use it for music. :-)
ReplyDeleteI just recently found the Angry Birds game too - I mean, really 99 cents for some harmless fun is not a bad deal!! My grandsons love to plink around with it when we're waiting for mom or something too. :-)
(I have no idea how to get those treasure chests either - or the golden eggs?? I did see a free guide in the iTunes shop though...may have to get that so I can keep up with the grandkids..)
