Winner of Mini Charms

Meet Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks, the winner of the public vote in the last challenge of Project Quilting.  The challenge theme was Hooray for Spring!  I think she did an admirable job of representing the joy of the season with her quilt entitled Preparing the Nest.

Carla won a mini bundle of Simple Marks Summer Mini Charms from Malka Dubrawsky from my shop.

Congratulations Carla, and thank you Kim from Persimon Dreams for another great Project Quilting Season.

Catching Up with Project Quilting

Another fun and interesting Project Quilting challenge ended Sunday over at Kim's Crafty Apple blog.  As a sponsor, I gave away a fat quarter bundle of Kathy Davis Happiness fabrics.

The winner of the bundle (chosen by a random drawing) was Emma Thomas-McGinnis of Quilties, who made this adorable sewing machine cover based on this week's challenge - Barn Quilts.

The next challenge will be posted on Kim's blog on Sunday, March 4th, at noon.  So be sure to check it out, make something wonderful, and be in the drawing for fabulous prizes.

The Non Quilt Challenge Results

KimsCraftyApple, who hosts Project Quilting, runs off season challenges as well.  I had the honor (and fun) of deciding on the July's challenge, which was a Non-Quilt Quilt challenge.  The entries could be anything from a bag, to a sculpture, to a wearable, anything really, as long as it was made of fabric, and was three dimensional (not flat like a quilt).  The entry also had to incorporate at least two items or textures that were not fabric.  To sweeten the challenge, I offered a fat quarter bundle of fabrics to a randomly chosen participant.

Here were the entries for the challenge:
(You may recognize the stocking )
I especially like the diaper cover that Kim made.  To see the entries up close, read about their creative process, and find out who won the fat quarter bundle, check out Kim's blog post.
