W.I.P.

I am happy to report that two projects went from "getting close" to FINISHED this week.  My Dancing Spools Quilt is done.  I'm honored that it was one of the featured quilts on Quilt Story's Fabric Tuesday this week.

I  also did a tutorial on the scrappy binding, which you can see here.

The knit tie for my son is also FINISHED.  You wouldn't think that such a narrow item would take so long.  I guess it is because the stitches are so tiny.

He was gracious enough to model it in these photos over a long sleeve shirt, even though the weather is in the 90's here.

I have some fabulous yarn on order (which I will share when it arrives).  But for my current knitting project, I am making a simple infinity scarf in purple yarn that I found in the bargain bin at AC Moore.

So that's it for me this week.

What have you been up to?
I've linked up with Handmade HarbourFabric Tuesday, Sew Much Ado, Freshly Pieced, Free Motion Quilting Project, and Adorned from Above.

  1. I love your Dancing Spools quilt, which I saw on Quilt Story. Will the pattern be available for purchase in your shop? I'd like to make a wall-hanging for my sewing room.

  8. I don't think I've ever seen the Dancing Spools pattern -- but then I'm not a quilter, only a quilt admirer! Yours is a beauty! I like the tie too!

  9. I adore that dancing spools quilt, Kym! And I love the tie - I like how it's a kind of formal piece of clothing but with a very informal look. Just my kind of thing! Welcome to Handmade Monday - lovely to have you join in x

  10. Well done for getting your projects finished - I'm terrible for starting and never quite making it to the end! The quilt and tie both look fantastic.

  11. Thats it? phew. Seems like a lot to me. The tie looks fab not too in your face but with a little pop of colour - I hope it gets a lot of wear (once the weather cools down that is).
