I also did a tutorial on the scrappy binding, which you can see here.
The knit tie for my son is also FINISHED. You wouldn't think that such a narrow item would take so long. I guess it is because the stitches are so tiny.
He was gracious enough to model it in these photos over a long sleeve shirt, even though the weather is in the 90's here.
I have some fabulous yarn on order (which I will share when it arrives). But for my current knitting project, I am making a simple infinity scarf in purple yarn that I found in the bargain bin at AC Moore.
So that's it for me this week.
What have you been up to?
I've linked up with Handmade Harbour, Fabric Tuesday, Sew Much Ado, Freshly Pieced, Free Motion Quilting Project, and Adorned from Above.
I love your Dancing Spools quilt, which I saw on Quilt Story. Will the pattern be available for purchase in your shop? I'd like to make a wall-hanging for my sewing room.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
DeleteYes, I plan on making the pattern available soon. Thanks for asking.
I wondered how the tie would look once complete...love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd your quilt looks great all finished and on display!
Your dancing spools quilt is so fun! You did a lovely job.
ReplyDeleteoh, the dancing spools like great all finished and on the wall :) That tie is so cool, too!
ReplyDeleteI am stopping by from the WIP hop, my post is here if you have time to stop by :) http://domesticdeficitdisorder.blogspot.com/2013/07/wip-july-17th-edition.html
They are all such fun diverse projects, love them :) T.
ReplyDeleteThe dancing spools is so much fun. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteLove the finished quilt! Wonderful for sewers like us!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen the Dancing Spools pattern -- but then I'm not a quilter, only a quilt admirer! Yours is a beauty! I like the tie too!
ReplyDeleteI adore that dancing spools quilt, Kym! And I love the tie - I like how it's a kind of formal piece of clothing but with a very informal look. Just my kind of thing! Welcome to Handmade Monday - lovely to have you join in x
ReplyDeleteWell done for getting your projects finished - I'm terrible for starting and never quite making it to the end! The quilt and tie both look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThats it? phew. Seems like a lot to me. The tie looks fab not too in your face but with a little pop of colour - I hope it gets a lot of wear (once the weather cools down that is).
ReplyDeleteThe spools are wonderful! Great idea!!!
