Today is National Sewing Machine Day. Aren't you glad they were invented! I love hand sewing, but wouldn't want to take every stitch in a quilt by hand.

I designed this quilt in EQ7 to celebrate National Sewing Machine Day |
The first sewing machines were developed during the industrial revolution. In 1982, President Reagan declared September to be the National Sewing Month.
To celebrate, here are a few treasuries built around National Sewing Machine Day:
Tell me about your sewing machine(s).
Happy Sewing ♥
Happy sewing machine day to you too! Mine, I'm afraid, is collecting dust upstairs, but it has quite a few to do projects around it to keep it company.

I still have the first sewing machine I owned - a Kenmore. Bought it with my own money back in 1979. Still works like a charm, but needs a new foot pedal, the wiring is going bad in it!
ReplyDeleteLove your EQ design!
What awesome finds! Just dug mine out so I could get started on some projects.
ReplyDeleteCute quilt you designed.
I'm not really the sewer in the family, but my mother and mother in law are both very talented seamstresses. I know they love their sewing machines.
ReplyDeleteYay for sewing machines! My Bernina has served me faithfully for many years sewing children's clothing, curtains, and quilts. Wonder what you do for it on it's special day - a kiss, a kind word, gentle pat? : )
ReplyDeleteI love my sewing machines! Thanks for featuring my treasury.
ReplyDeleteYou know one of the best things about Sewing Machine Day? For some reason, it comes twice a year! June 13th and September 10th.
Fun tribute to sewing!
