52 Week Challenge - Week 9

A friend from church gave me some knitted fabric (lets just say a LOT of knitted fabric) that she inherited from a manufacturer of knit clothing who recently retired.  I will no doubt be making lots of different things from this material in the future.  These bags are the first project I've used it for.

My eldest granddaughter modeled for me
I found some nice leather handles, lined them with coordinating cotton fabric, put in three pockets, and a magnetic snap.  A bonus to the project was that I got to use my new serger.   I am  pretty happy with the way they turned out.  My granddaughter has already claimed one of the purple bags (her favorite color).

Can't wait to see what you have been up to this week?

Let's get busy,

P.S. - The Linky Site is having some problems, which they are working on. If you experience this, please don't give up. Just try and add your link later.

  8. I have a weakness for fabrics that look rusty or silvery... They look like chainmail, a little! :)

  10. I can't wait to see what else you do with this fabric. Makes me think about alternate uses for fabrics I had intended to use for garments, but now have no interest in making.
