Now, check out these lovely quilted items from the Quiltsy Team on Etsy:
This one of a kind quilt was started in October 2008 by the Quiltsy Team. Many of us have been touched by Breast Cancer, and we wanted to do something to make a difference. With the project inspired by Whimbrella and a generous donation of theme fabric, volunteers came forth to make individually made and designed blocks. We ended up with 20 members making 22 blocks. This quilt was sold in the Quiltsy Team Shop, and the proceeds donated for cancer research.
I have a "thing" for pincushions, and this is a sweet quilted one is from Debi Designs.
Here's a purpley batik quilt from Fabric Elements.
And this beauty is made by NeedleLove2.
You can find many more wonderful quilted works by typing "Quiltsy Team" in the search bar on Etsy.
Please don't forget to leave your comment on what you like
about quilts, or quilting for a chance to win some gorgeous fabric.
Happy Sewing ♥
Ooo, Love the new fabrics!! I LOVE quilts because they are a delight to your senses. Not only can you touch them and feel their warmth each one is a visual work of art.
ReplyDeleteThere's so much I love about quilting...one thing is that I get to play with beautiful fabric and (hopefully) make it into something even more beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the random number generator, also. Here's hoping she goes for her age.
My first celebration of National Quilting Day --- making my first quilt and love picking the fabric and the process. Feeling so accomplished. Ready to embark on #2 if I win some fabric.
ReplyDeleteI learned to quilt around 12 yrs old and I've been in love ever since! I love fabric, the textures, even the smells of different materials. I love the relaxation of cutting out pieces. I love the finished product, that my family usually tries to keep. : ) I love everything about quilting!...except when I need to use the seam ripper LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love fabric first of all. The fact that something I've made can warm someone, comfort someone and bring a smile to someones face is just the best feeling.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
I love quilting because it keeps me sane!!
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at the quilting process and some of the beautiful pieces of art that are created. You can just look at them and enjoy their beauty, or wrap yourself up in one! I love the Breast Cancer Quilt above, I am a BC survivor, 12 yrs. now.
ReplyDeleteI love quilts because they remind me of a different time and place.....women gathered around a frame, talking and laughing, and slowly, stitch by tiny stitch, transforming pieced fabric into a beautiful quilt. It was magical.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to love, the colors, the fabrics but what I love the most is how different ever quilt is even if quilters are working from the same pattern.
ReplyDeleteLove the new fabrics. My first time on your blog and your pics are gorgeous. Quilting soothes the soul and are wonderful visual and tactile works of art.
ReplyDeleteI love quilting because the colors and feel of the fabric can change your mood. It is so tactile and soothing to work with fabric. I truly get lost in my fabric when I work.
ReplyDeleteIt's the peace - stitching calms me and centers me and peace overtakes me. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about quilting is using fabric like paint to "color" my picture and then using my sewing machine to "thread sketch" my quilting. It truly makes me feel like an artist!
ReplyDeleteFabric...I just am in awe when I go to a fabric shop. The possibilites! The colors and designs! I love to design and piece the quilts more than quilting. By the time I get to the quilting stage, I just am anxious to start designing around that nice pile of pretty fabric sitting near the ironing board...
ReplyDeleteHi Kym! I love the quilts I own because they were touched by creative hands. They are one of a kind and they have a history. They keep my family warm and are beautiful. Thanks for the contest...
ReplyDeleteThank you for featuring my purple batik quilt. I was sewing my pj's at 5 years old and I've never looked back. No matter where I am in life when I pick up a needle I'm at peace. Creating with fabric is so very rewarding!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be celebrating National Quilting Day by being at a quilt retreat with my friends and guild. I can't wait to have long stretches of creative time and sharing among friends.
ReplyDeleteQuilting takes me into a totally different world; peaceful, trouble-free, relaxing, no time machine, thoughtful, feelings, loving...it is simply the best time spent.....EVER!
ReplyDeleteKym, I love quilting, could go on about it for hours, but I will spare you. I find handquilting to be a very relaxing thing to do and I can take it in the living room and watch tv with my husband at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
I love quilting because of the feeling of comfort they bring. If you're wrapped in a quilt, you're wrapped in love. I LOVE the Jason Yenter fabrics, by the way! Thanks for posting my quilt!
